BASE jumping is a highly dangerous sport that can severely injure and kill participants. It may kill you. The moderators of BLiNC do not recommend BASE jumping to anybody!

Read the BASE fatality list and the Fatality Statistics page and think long and hard before making a BASE jump.

    ust read a newspaper article that today a 36 year old american wingsuiter died in the swiss alps. jumping out of a helicopter and attempting to pass by a ridge called 'Mönchsbüffel'.

    No further details were reported.

    Eli Thompson. x flyBoyz freefly team died on a base jump yesterday in Switzerland.

    Another newspaper reported that three other jumped with him. He collided with a wall. The jump seamed to take place in the 'Eiger' region.

    it was a wall strike. Still a little insure if it was under canopy or before deployment.

    as information trickles in, I am wondering if this was a jump from the helicopter or not.

    such a cool guy ,i met him at the horner 2 weeks ago we sat down and talked about his last 2 months .

    RIP fly free mate ...

    feel sorry for his family...
