BASE jumping is a highly dangerous sport that can severely injure and kill participants. It may kill you. The moderators of BLiNC do not recommend BASE jumping to anybody!

Read the BASE fatality list and the Fatality Statistics page and think long and hard before making a BASE jump.

    (Dagbladet): A base jumper has hit the rock wall at Karlsgråtind in Romsdal. It was known in 17-era.

    Sunnmørsposten could at 18.45 o'clock this evening reported that the base jumper, a man in his 20 years, had died.

    - We know that a jump has hit rock wall 600 feet high. We do not know how things are with him, but the air ambulance from Ålesund is in place, while the Sea King helicopter and an Alpine rescue team is on its way, "said rescue leader Jan Lillebøe by the Rescue Coordination Centre in southern Norway to the paper in the 17-time.

    - Witnesses observed that the screen was resolved, but it hooked onto the mountain about 600 feet up the wall. He hangs there now, "said operations manager Leif Bergem-Ohr in Nordmøre og Romsdal Police District 17.30.

    Then they hoped to rescue the man using the Sea King helicopter from HRS. That they did not succeed in.

    The mountain is at its peak 1799 meters above sea level and is located in Rauma, Møre og Romsdal. There are 470 highest mountain in Norway, and is part of the Romsdal Alps. The mountain is popular as utsprangsted for base jumping .
