B.A.S.E. jumping (alternatively BASE jumping) is an activity that employs a parachute descent after a jump from a fixed object. "B.A.S.E." is an acronym that stands for four categories of fixed objects from which one can jump: buildings, antennas, spans (bridges), and earth (cliffs), but BASE includes other non-classified objects such as alpine cable cars, smoke stacks, dams, and construction cranes.
