Black Jack
This page is a chapter in 'BASE Wiki Canopies'
The Black Jack is a 7-cell, BASE specific canopy offered by Consolidated Rigging.
The Black Jack is similar in design with Consolidated Riggings Ace canopy but with the addition of their PAC (TM) (Pressure Activated and Controlled) valves which allow air to enter and pressurize the canopy but not to escape. This results in the canopy to pressurizing almost instantly and responding to control inputs faster and allowing faster heading corrections and increases in canopy flight time.
The Black Jack is available in six sizes ranging from 200 to 310 square feet with multiple options including a composite upper surface. The composite upper surface replaces the front 30% of the canopies normal F-111 top skin fabric with zero porosity fabric to enhance air foil shaping and performance.
