Go and Throw

This page is a chapter in 'BASE Wiki Jumping Techniques'

The "Go and Throw" pilot chute jumping technique is essentially the BASE equivalent of skydivings "Hop and Pop" whereas you begin your deployment immediately after exiting the object.

This is typically used for lower objects where you want as much canopy time as possible to get set up for landing or for objects where the landing area is a distance away from the object.

Go and Throws are also used in teaching newer jumpers proper launch positions as it will result in an almost immediate canopy deployment and help negate the effects of bad body position during a delay jump while allowing the jumper maximum canopy time.
