Description:

David Ogison [32] went up the mountain by himself in not ideal conditions, most of the usual ground launching crew were not around. An observer from the DZ saw him trying to ground-launch a skydiving parachute. He had a few failed attempts. He got lift and was in full fight. The observer stated that he had plenty of lift and altitude and then saw a hard 180 before crashing into a ravine on the mountain, he was dead on impact. His body was finally found by rescue crews northeast of a gliderport on Otay Mesa Road near Otay Mountain Truck Trail.
