I bought "Mid Strife Crisis" from basedreams.com last night. It's from Australia so it will be a couple of weeks before I get it. looks pretty good. (Crap it was $60 bucks)
Oh yeah, and I think Jeb's "a year in the life is great"
Mac, where do you order the ground is the limit??
Thanks,
Mark
Have a google for the title and Iiro Seppanen, there are various places to purchase it. I only recently watched this DVD and its one of the DVDs I would advise anyone to buy as it offers a pretty good insight into BASE. Another DVD I would suggest is I'd Rather Fly by Herminio Cortlido which shows the story of an amazing and inspiring individual called Lonnie Bissonnette.
I prefer real stories and insight into the drive of people within the sport then just watching cool jumps with cool music.

OK I just ordered The Ground is the limit from square 1.
http://www.square1.com/manufacturers/square1/p1283.asp
$29.95 plus 6 bucks FedEx ground shipping.
Here's the blurb from the cover...
The Ground Is The Limit is a NEW DVD by Iiro Seppanen. Feauring Hot base footage with Iiro and Jeb. The Ground is The Limit follows Iiro Seppanen and Jeb Corliss throughout various, often exotic locations in their larger-than-life journey to find new objects to jump from. B.A.S.E. jumping develops into a personal mission of self discovery, one of the most courageous endeavours any individual may embark on, ever. This is not a movie about death defying acts or a demonstration of bravery. This is the story, not often told, of two human beings, two friendships which run parallel with similar aspirations and dreams, and one goal: to keep B.A.S.E. jumping, the finding and transcending of one's limits. Get ready to enter the secret world of one of the most dangerous underground sports; a fusion of 'The Matrix" and "Fight Club", except this is no fantasy, this is hard core reality. Join Iiro and Jeb in their B.A.S.E. jumps from such objects as the Petronas Towers in Malaysia, from inside the Eiffel Tower, the Stratosphere, the Skylon Tower, New York City skyscrapers, and many more. Professionally editted and composed. A must see DVD
Merry Christmas
It really depends on what you are looking for. I've got tons of video, commercial and not. I could point you a hundred different directions based on your interests.
In no particular order...
Grounds the Limit - very good video with some very high prfile jumps and high profile jumpers. It really gives you a look into what's behind Jeb and Iiro's thoughts and behavior.
Radix - I'm not sure I even like JH, but anyone that gives him **** for hooking up with Clair is just JEALOUS! The video now is one of the best, period. It has great footage, great mixing, gives a view of skydiving and BASE, and the music fits very well.
Keen 'n Able - While I'm talking about JH I might as well bring this one up. It is very well done also, very similar to Radix, but Douggs footage in that video made me really appreciate the work he is doing. Douggs is one person, for sure, that shoulf be making some wicked money for what he is putting together.
***On a side note, Douggs recent decision to plaster Utube with video clips makes me wonder.
Adrenaline Rush - A great documentary about the sport that's at the edge of imagination. Shot for Imax but I it hasn't made it to the West Coast. I'd love to see that version. Anyway, a great DVD. It goes into several things that will leave jumpers wondering WTF to keep non-jumpers interested, but good work none the less. I watched it again recently and when the guys steps to the edge and jumps, my palms were sweating.
Continuum/C2 - Both excellent video. Tons of jumps from everywhere with great music and correlation. The mayo, ketchup, Tabasco spoon full was a little much, but hell they're from Colorado. There was a broad range of experience on the video from people doing their first gainer at the bridge to a really nice multi-way memorial jump in Norway. RIP Earl Redfern and Clint Ford!
Thread the Needle/A Finer Thread - Very good videos. It appears to me this is a pretty tight group of jumpers with some descent skills in jumping and compiling a video. Less proffessional than the previously mentioned videos, but amatuer porno is in high demand, why should that same philosphy hold for BASE videos. Not taking anything away from the work or effort on the two DVD's. I've watched them several times and am still pleased!
2nd BASE - Watched it for the first time the other day. It looks pretty good, but I haven't had the time to watch it consecutively to see if it's still just as amazing as the first time.
Superterminal - I've never set and watched this entire video, but what I saw was way too one sided. It had some cool features, like being able to view the map and choose what exit point you wanted to see, but terminal jumps are not something I have much experience with. I would love to go to Norway and get some serious track on, but so far that hasn't happened and therefore this video did not appeal to me as much as it might have.
Jeb Corliss - There are several videos out there of Jeb. Many of them contain jumps and clips from commercially available videos and some I've been told should have never been released in their current format, A Year in the Life is one of those. Most of these are great videos with spectacular arials. Expect more soon. I hear the China trip will be amazing when it is released. Landing area the size of two king mattresses, on an incline, a river that goes underground for like four days, and jagged rocks everwhere else. Sounds pretty technical to me.
Tom Aiello - I've seen a few videos he's done from long ago and recently. I have to say I've been impressed and that coming from someone who was previously quite skeptically. I don't know where Tom's headed with it all, but I have to say NOT BAD!
Everyone else - I checkout most video I can find. I see some things that are impressive and some that are pretty blah, but the effort is surely there and we will continue to see videos that amaze us and make people want to try this shiite out! Keep up the good work!
If there is something you think I missed let me know. I'd love to see some new/old stuff for the first time. If you agree or disagree let me know. I have my opinions, but I'm open to other opinions also...
Tony
Tony,
Thanks a whole bunch for your reviews. I watched the grounds the limit last night and enjoyed listening to the reasons WHY Jeb and Iiro do what they do, why Iiro quit and why Jeb continues. They both, in my book have huge balls of steel. I will look for the other videos to buy.
can you tell me any particulars of this video??
YouTube- Base Jumpers
What is the name of the band and song??
Who are the jumpers??
The website posted at the end of the video is down. Do you know anything about it?? Who is the guy at the end with the helmet shooting the peace sign?
I figure most of it is shot in Norway...correct me if I'm wrong.
I don't know where most of the youtube and google videos were ripped from, and I'm sure most are legit but as small as the BASE community is, you won't catch me ripping any videos and posting them. These guys earned their profits.
Again, thanks for showing me the way to more good BASE videos.
Oh, and PS...Douggs site has some really good clips as well.
Thanks Tony!!
Mark
Re the Norway videos, posted below...
It's called "First Base" and is pretty good, the music is from a band called "yelp", they have split up but the singer Shaun Bartlett is still going and i have heard some good stuff about him, but as yet haven’t had a chance to listen yet myself. www.shaunbartlett.com/
The band “yelp” also does the music for Second Base.
You can get first base (I think) and "Second base" which is really really a great video from here; http://www.oslobase.no/index2.html
Here are a couple of my vids, I am planning to put a better quality version on skydiving movies but for now they are here;

George,
Your blog is FANTASTIC! The New York Marathon!! I can't believe your dad is in Ten Years After!! I still listen to their stuff. "one of these days and "I'd love to change the world" are two of my favorites. You've got a very good life. Thanks for the link to your blog.
Mark
I have just watched 2nd BASE, and would suggest this as a DVD/video to get. Its not a DVD that explains BASE, but its a DVD that has some really cool jumps. I hate to suggest DVDs/videos that just make BASE look cool, because BASE is not cool, its horrible, but 2nd BASE kinda shows both the cool side and the scary side....
BTW, George, I have to admit, your Blogg is quite cool..... I always thought bloggers were w4nkers, but yours is very cool........ lets hope tomorrow is wind free hey!

Us Yanks are going to have to wait for the NTSC version unless we want to play it on our computers only. I can convert PAL to NTSC but I'd rather wait for a fresh NTSC copy from them.
Mac, I've finally gotten my mind around this. Kinda like a beautiful but venomous snake that can bite and kill at any moment ...or a drug which gives the ultimate high but can kill you anytime you use it.Originally Posted by Mac

Personally I think BASE jumping is awesome. I wouldn't risk my health and life if I didn't.
I think snowboarding the cirque on a 4 foot powder day and setting off multiple avalanches was awesome too but I don't think I would do it again because in hindsight that blind air, as cool as it was, could have caused a problem. Plus I lost my season pass for a month.
Mac, base is horrible? So why in the hell do I always laugh when my feet leave an object? I find base hilarious!
